Motor Equipment Operator – Town of Sheldon Highway Department
Minimum NYS CDL Class B REQUIRED
The Town of Sheldon is seeking candidates for a Motor Equipment Operator. Primary duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
· Operates dump truck hauling sand, gravel, cement, stone, dirt, and other materials on highway construction projects
· Operates truck in spreading sand or salt on icy roads; plows snow
· Performs manual tasks on highway construction and maintenance work such as cutting trees, patching roads, cleaning culvert pipes, shoveling
· Operates dump truck, tractors, skid steer, excavator and other highway equipment
· Drives power tractor with grass mowing attachments on the shoulder of roads
· Washes, paints, services trucks with water, gas, and oil, and makes minor repairs
Candidates must possess a valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License Minimum Class B

Town Board Meetings: Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Sheldon Town Hall at 7:00 p.m. except for the June meeting which will be held at the Varysburg Park. Legal ads are published in the Batavia Daily newspaper.
Planning Board Meetings: Second Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the Sheldon Town Hall at 6:00 p.m. at the Sheldon Town Hall. The September 2024 meeting is cancelled.
